In this article, we’ll go through the steps for creating a custom product build using the Point of Sale (POS) module. This option is useful for creating a unique item that requires custom work and isn’t available on the shelf.
You may refer to this video for a step-by-step guide on creating a customer custom build: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nD7Lr3fIdg4.
Step 1: Access the Product Build Service Job
Open the Sale module from the Flawless POS Admin.
Click on the Product Build Service Job option.
Step 2: Begin the Custom Build
Choose the customer who wants to create their own custom build. In this example, we will be using the customer named Lequirus
In the context menu, choose New Product and New Client Build.
Enter the basic information for the new product, such as:
Inventory Type
Title
Vendor
Designer
Barcode
SKU
Categories
Note: You may be able to auto generate the SKU by ticking the button below the SKU field. This will allow you to select from a list of existing SKU templates or create your own template. For more information regarding this, you may refer to the article on [SKU templates]. Additionally, you may also make use of the Custom Views button which would allow you to select a custom view that you’ve previously created. For more information regarding custom views, you may refer to this article [Custom Views]
Step 3: Configure the Product Build and Add Costs
Once added, the Product Build Menu will open, and the base piece will be included as the first part of labor.
Add the estimated assembly costs.
Note: You can adjust the labor price by updating the Price fields.
Once complete, click OK.
Step 4: Submit the Sale
Complete the sale following the standard POS submission process.
For guidance, check out our article on Submitting a Sale.
Once the customer is ready to pick up the item, or if you’re shipping it, select the Special or Pickup Order option.
