How to use Card Link payment option

This article provides a step-by-step guide on using the Payment Link, an alternative credit card payment option. This option allows customers to pay securely via a link sent through email or text, without using a physical payment terminal.

Step 1: Access the Payment Link Option

  • Start in the Payment Section of the Sale Checkout.

  • Choose the Payment Link option to charge the customer.

     



Step 2: Confirm Sale Price

  • The price dialog will display the full sale price automatically.

  • Press Done to confirm and proceed.



Step 3: Choose How to Send the Payment Link

  • In the Send Payment Link dialog, select how the link will be sent to the customer.

    • Type field: Choose to send via text message or email.

    • For this example, select text message.

  • Customize the Message field if needed or keep the default text.

     



Step 4: Set the Payment Option

  • Choose whether to wait for real-time payment confirmation or save the sale as a draft to process payment later.

    • Real-time: Wait for payment during the current interaction.

    • Deferred: Save the sale and return to it once the customer submits payment.


Step 5: Send the Payment Link

  • Once the settings are finalized, press OK to send the link.

  • Allow 10-20 seconds for the customer to receive the message.


Step 6: Customer Completes Payment

  • The customer follows the link, reviews and signs the policy, and enters their card details.

  • After inputting details, the customer presses Pay Now to submit payment.


Step 7: Verify Transaction in Sale Checkout

  • Return to Sale Checkout to confirm the transaction has been applied.

  • Verify the policy signature and transaction status in the payment section.

  • Note that the transaction can be voided if necessary.


Step 8: Complete the Sale

  • Finish the sale to complete the transaction.

  • For customers using this payment option, their card is automatically saved for future purchases with permission.
