Overview of the Security Tab

In this article, we will walk you through the features and functionality of the Security tab located within the Admin module of the Flawless POS system. By understanding how to manage permissions, you can effectively control access for different user roles and modules within the system.

Step 1: Access the Security Tab

  1. Open Your Left Navigation Menu.

  2. Click on the Store Menu Option.

  3. Select the Admin Option.

     

  1. Enter Your Admin Security Code: You will be prompted to enter your admin security code to gain access.

  1. Click on the Security Tab: Once in the Admin panel, click on the Security tab to view the various modules available in Flawless POS.

     


Step 2: Explore Security Settings

  • View Available Modules: On the left side, you will see the available modules. Click on a module's name to access its security settings.

  • Example - Inventory Module:

    • After selecting the Inventory module, various actions connected to inventory management will be displayed.





Step 3: Modify Role Permissions

  • Adjust Permissions:

    • To change permissions, locate the relevant action (e.g., Update or Add Product).

  • If you want to prevent the Associates from updating the product list, click the X button next to their role.

  • This change will ensure that only Store Managers can edit product details.

  • Restore Permissions:

    • To add the role back, click the + sign next to the role and select the appropriate role you wish to restore.

       

In this example, we’ll be adding the Associate back so that Associates may be able to Update or Add Products in the POS.


 


Step 4: Manage Navigation Controls

  • The Navigation Option in the Security tab allows you to control aspects related to the navigation menu and tabs across different modules, providing comprehensive management over user access and visibility.

     

NOTE: Any changes made on the Admin Module are automatically saved. This means that any update made on the module would automatically go live.
