Advanced Data Grid Features in Flawless POS

In this guide, we will explore some of the more advanced features of the Data Grid in Flawless POS. Building upon the fundamentals of filtering, sorting, and customizing your Data Grid, we'll now dive into View Templates and the Scheduler functionality, which allow you to save custom views and automate data exports. These tools are especially helpful for users who frequently manage repetitive data views or need to send reports on a regular basis.

View Templates: Save Time with Custom Views

When working with the Data Grid, you may find yourself frequently using the same setup, such as filtering or sorting by specific columns. Instead of manually reapplying filters and sorts every time, you can save these views as templates for quick access in the future.

Step 1: Creating a View Template 

To create a custom View Template:

1. Set up your Data Grid the way you want. For example, in the Customer Data Grid, filter to show orders for a customer that you wish to search. In this example, we’ll be using the customer named "A Industries" and sort the Balance column in descending order, showing the most expensive orders first.
   
   

2. Click the Grid Options button, which appears as a cogwheel icon, located at the top right of the Data Grid.
   
    

3. From the dropdown menu, select Save View Template.
   
   

4. In the Save As menu, click New View Template.
   
   

5. Enter a name for your template (In this example, “A Industries Orders by Balance”) and press OK to save it.
   
   This template will now be saved and accessible for future use.

Step 2: Accessing Saved View Templates 

Whenever you want to load a previously saved template:

1. Click the Grid Options button.
   
   

2. Select Pick a Saved Template.
   
   
   

3. Choose your saved template from the list. In this example we’ll be using the template which was just recently created. The Data Grid will instantly update to match the saved view.
   
   

This is particularly useful if you regularly apply the same filters or sorting criteria, such as reviewing customer orders by specific criteria.
